Assumption College (Thailand)

The Assumption School Bangkok ( Thai: โรงเรียน อัส สั ม ชั ญ ) is a private Catholic school in the district of Bangrak, Bangkok.

Name

The term " assumption" comes from the theological theology and describes the taking to have suffered, or about ascension into heaven without death.

History

The Assumption School in Thailand was founded in 1885 by the Missionary Father Emile Auguste Colombet who wanted to help improve the lack of educational facilities of Siam. First, there was the school of a simple wooden house. The first student was a certain Siew Meng Tek. Today, many school facilities are linked to the Assumption. There have graduated from the Assumption school career successfully completed more than 50,000 Thai students.
