Asten, Netherlands
Asten ( Brabants: Ááste ) (? Listen / i ) is a municipality in the province of North Brabant. The municipality forms part of the Samenwerkingsverband Regio Eindhoven, an institution that has certain similarities to a county government in Germany.
Location and economic
Asten is located approximately 10 miles from Helmond and 20 km from Eindhoven. The bus line 20 connects these two cities with buttons.
In Asten is the world-renowned Royal Bell Foundry Eijsbouts. 1993 here the largest bell in the world, a gift of Queen Elizabeth II was in New Zealand, cast.
Next is agriculture with farming and pig important.
Attractions
Worth seeing are the carillon museum ( Nationaal Beiaardmuseum ), the Neo-Gothic Church of Our Lady created woman (OL Vrouwe ), after a design by Caspar Franssen towards the end of the 19th century, and in 1940 according to plans by AJ Kropholler built City Hall.
The municipal area is a large part of the National Park de Groote Peel, a raised bog area that is accessible by hiking trails.
