The Astra Stadium is a football stadium in the Romanian city of Ploiesti. It can accommodate 10,000 spectators and served the Club Astra Ploieşti in September 2012 as a home.

History

The Astra stadium in Ploieşti was built in 1934 and opened. Since then, the club Astra Ploieşti uses the sports facility as a venue for home games in football. The club was established in 1934 increased in 1998 for the first time in the league 1, the first Romanian League, and also plays on presently there. The biggest success for the club is probably the twice reaching the semi-finals of the Romanian Cup in 2002 and 2003. Moreover twice they won the championship in the second division. From 2008 to 2009, the stadium was also used by the CS Otopeni during their Erstligasaison so far only as the home stadium of Otopeni just provides good thousand spectators. Due to a conflict Stadium in Bucharest, Astra Stadium is 2011, Steaua Bucharest, Dinamo Bucharest and Rapid Bucharest in question, Steaua played here twice, against Universitatea Cluj they won 2-1 against FCM Targu Mures 2-0. Also Dinamo was present in the Astra Stadium 1-0 against Târgu Mureş.
