Astral Doors

Astral Doors is the name of a hard rock and heavy metal band that was founded in 2003 in Borlänge in Sweden. Since the establishment of Astral Doors are available at the German- Spanish label Locomotive Records.

History

The debut album appeared in 2003 Of the Son and the Father was recorded at the " Big Turn " studio owned by the guitarist Joachim Nordlund. Remixed it was, among others, Peter Tägtgren, who has already worked for Dimmu Borgir, Immortal, and other well-known bands. In the German Rock Hard magazine, the album reached fifth place and Astral Doors gained great fame virtually overnight - outside of Sweden. The cover picture of the album was crucified people, with the result that those responsible from Japan refused to bring it with this design on the market. A new artwork was designed, the first album in Japan with a new look and a new name (Cloud Breaker ) came out. This was followed by appearances in 2004 at the Wacken Open Air and Sweden Rock Festival, two festivals, which have great significance in the metal scene.

In 2004, the follow-up album Evil is Forever was recorded and again mixed by Peter Tägtgren. The name alludes to the James Bond theme song Diamonds are Forever, but the title runs like a red thread through the entire album. Following the publication in 2005 followed in the spring of the same year a tour with Stormhammer the opening act of the German band Grave Digger.

In the same year, work on the EP Raiders of the Ark, which was to shorten the fans the time to Astralism album, which was released in the spring of 2006 began. In September 2006, Astral Doors went along with Blind Guardian to tour.

Style

Even before the formation of the band Astral Doors wrote the founding members of songs that are oriented ( in time with Ozzy Osbourne ) close to their heroes Black Sabbath. Also in the official albums you can hear clear connections to rock bands of the 1970s and 1980s such as Deep Purple and especially Dio. The connection with the latter band can be found very clearly in Johansson's style of singing of the Ronnie James Dio is very similar.
