Astrium

Astrium, a 100 percent subsidiary of Airbus Group is dedicated to providing civil and defense space systems. In 2009, Astrium had a turnover of 4.8 billion euros and employed approximately 15,000 employees in France, Germany, Great Britain, Spain and the Netherlands. In 2011, with 16,623 employees, a turnover of 4.967 billion euros earned ( EBIT margin of 5.4 %).

Astrium is from 2014 merged with Cassidian and Airbus Military and as a new Airbus Division, Airbus Defence and Space, whose headquarters will be in Munich, operate.

Astrium is divided into three business segments:

  • Astrium Satellites (ASL ) for spacecraft and ground segment
  • Astrium Services (ASV ) satellite-based for the development and delivery of services for military and commercial purposes, and navigation services worldwide
  • Astrium Space Transportation (AST ) for launchers and orbital infrastructure.
