Astrojax

Astrojax is a solo game of skill, which was invented by the American physicist Larry Shaw.

Handling

It consists of three plastic balls in a line, wherein the central one is freely movable. In the variant Astrojax AQUA also the two outer balls can slide over the cord. By selectively pulling on the ends of the balls can be placed artfully dancing.

Dissemination

The fast rotations are based on the physical laws of rotational dynamics. Accidentally discovered during research on chaos theory, it is often to be seen today at conventions and in juggling shops. In July 2002, the astronauts of the International Space Station played with Astrojax and gave in a live broadcast answers to student questions whether the game would work in space.
