Astros, Greece

Astros (Greek Άστρος (n. sg. ) ) Is a small town in Arcadia in the Peloponnese in Greece. It is in the fertile plain of the Tanos and is the administrative headquarters of the 12,825 inhabitants municipality Voria Kynouria.

About 5 km to the east by the sea is the former fishing village of Paralia Astros. Today it is a popular seaside resort.

In 1823 Astros met the second Greek National Assembly.

4km from Astros, Tripoli is the built in the 12th century monastery Sotiros Loukous.
