ASV Durlach

The ASV Durlach 1902 is a sports club from the district of Karlsruhe Durlach. The club has about 400 members in the departments football, running, women's gymnastics and martial arts. The most successful team represent the clubs participating in the regional league footballer Baden

History

The club was founded on 14 May 1902 as FC Germania Durlach. After the dissolution in 1945 and by joining forces with other sports clubs Durlacher ( VfR, Turnerschaft, TG Durlach, swimming club ) on September 9, 1945, the ASV Durlach was born. In February 1946, the Turnerschaft split off again the following year, the Tennis Club the ASV joined.

In the postwar years the ASV Durlach had its most successful period in footballing terms. 1950, rose to the 2nd Oberliga Süd and remained there until 1955. In the aftermath of the ASV Durlach played mostly in the 1st and 2nd Amateur League. In the meantime was the case even down to the A-Class (1961 /62). Under coach " Kaddel " Ehrmann and with the financial support of the patron Hermann Terbrak managed the team for which Rolf Bierhoff aground, for two years ( 1965-1967 ) the return to the amateur league swimming. This was followed again a crash in the county league.

Only at the end of the 1980s, the club was able to continue with the return to the Federation League North Baden something on the successes of past days. In the years 1993 and 2005 they reached the championship in the fifth division and the associated rise in the Oberliga Baden- Württemberg.

After the immediate relegation from the premier league in the 2005/06 season the club played in the regional league swimming. There he was again able to achieve the championship in the round in 2007 / 08 and since then plays again in the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg. Besides winning the ASV Durlach 2008 the Baden Cup competition (BFV - Hoepfner Cup), and thus qualified for the DFB Cup. There, the club met on 10 August 2008 in the first round on Arminia Bielefeld (1:2).

Rainer Krieg, who was coach for the 2009/10 season, resigned after the game on Matchday penultimate of the season 2010/11. The already fixed relegated team lost away at FC Nöttingen with 1:9.

Stadium

The ASV Durlach plays its home matches at the 8,000 -seat stadium Turmberg. Record attendance in 1948 built the stadium was on 17 May 1948. The inaugural match against 1.FC Kaiserslautern ( 4:5 result, four goals from Fritz Walter ) saw 12,000 spectators. This turf has a covered grandstand for 300 spectators. In addition to the stadium, the sports grounds of the association has a parking lot behind the hard court and a hard court with floodlights.
