Behind the North Wind (English At the Back of the North Wind ) is a 1871 children's book published by George MacDonald. It is one of the most famous books of the Scottish Christian writer. It is up to now reissued and was also translated into German.

The little boy Diamond travels with the mysterious Lady North Wind at night around. It seems to be for the suffering and death but also for the actions of God.
