At Vance

At Vance is a German power metal band. The band was formed in 1998 by vocalist Oliver Hartmann ( ex-Centers/Avantasia ) and guitarist Olaf Lenk ( ex -Velvet Viper, then Olaf Jung).

History

The band won the 1998 a contract with Shark Records.

Together with Rainald König ( guitar), Uli Müller (keyboards ), Jochen string (bass) and Jürgen Lucas ( drums) in 1999, the debut album No Escape recorded and published. In addition to the self-composed songs can be found on the debut album an interpretation of Vivaldi's "Summer" and a cover of the ABBA song " Money, Money, Money".

In 2000, the band performed this line with the second album Heart of Steel consistently. The album with "SOS" ABBA again a hit, as well as a classic piece of Chopin ( Etude No.4). Heart of Steel is mainly used in Japan for the surprise hit and encouraged At Vance to publish the successor Dragonchaser still in 2001.

The following year, the band joined the label and is now on AFM Records, but lost with Uli Müller and Jochen string two of their musicians. Shortly after the fourth album Only Human, with the band, went along with Rhapsody and Angel Dust, on a European tour appeared. The singer Oliver Hartmann retired, his place was occupied by Mats Levén ( ex- Yngwie Malmsteen ).

The band 2003 the most successful album to date, The Evil in on You. It was followed by a tour with the U.S. band Kamelot.

2004 Rainald left King and Sascha Feldmann of the band. Feldmann was replaced by John 'ABC' Smith ( Ex-Scanner/Gallows poles ). Marc Cross ( ex- Helloween ) has signed on the drums.

After the 2005 tour with Brainstorm and Mercenary there were disagreements that led to the fact that Olaf Lenk separated from the remaining band members. Despite all the quarrels, the new album Chained makes it to the Scandinavian charts.

In June 2007, the seventh album VII appeared as a new singer was Rick Altzi ( Treasure Land ) involved. In August Olaf Lenk presented two new band members. Immediately Manuel Walther ( Purple Haze) on bass and Alex Landsburg ( Annihilator, Philosophobia ) increase on drums the band.

In May 2009, the band on their MySpace page announced that Manuel Walther left the band and ' Wolfman ' Black, bassist of the German band "Justice " is the new bassist for the band.
