Atari Cosmos

The Atari Cosmos was a non-published handheld video game company Atari. The novelty of the game was the holographic representation which produced a kind of 3D effect. Just like other handheld games from this period use the Cosmos LED lamps to represent the scenes, only a two-layer holographic foil produced the spatial effect. The device was never published and is now one of the rarest Atari products. The Cosmos was developed by Atari employees Allan Alcorn, Harry Jenkins and Roger Hector. When the CPU COPS411 processor was used. The system should not be operated on batteries, but should be supplied with an appropriate power supply. The Cosmos could be played by up to two players simultaneously.

Only five Cosmos are still preserved: Three devices consist only of the outer shell of the device, two devices are fully functional. A unit outer shell and a functional unit are owned by the Atari History Museum, while the others are still working unit belongs to a former employee of Atari.
