Ate de Jong

Ate de Jong ( born 1953 in Aardenburg ) is a Dutch film director, screenwriter and film producer.

Ate de Jong studied from 1970 to 1974 at the Amsterdam Film Academy. Two years later he made his debut with the feature film All dagen feest (1976 ) as a director; six more movies followed, as he moved in 1986 to Hollywood, where he directed some episodes of the U.S. cult series Miami Vice. In the United States he also realized two movies - Highway to Hell and Drop Dead Fred.

In the early 1990s returned Ate de Jong returned to Europe and settled in London. Since then he has worked primarily for European co-productions such as All Men Are Mortal, but also for German and Dutch television productions.

In 1998 he founded together with Jeroen Krabbé and Edwin de Vries, the production company Mulholland Pictures, for which he has since been working as film makers.
