Atenas de San Carlos

Club Atlético Atenas de San Carlos, short club Atlético Atenas ( nickname: Azulgrana, Negros, Atenienses ), is a football club from the city, in the department of Maldonado city of San Carlos in the south of Uruguay. He played in the 2013/14 season in the Segunda División Profesional de Uruguay.

History

The club was founded on May 1, 1928. In the years 1965, 1975, 1976 and most recently in 2001 each of the Copa El País could be won. At the end of the season 2008/ 09 is increased as tables - third for the first time from the Segunda División, the second highest league in Uruguay, in the Primera División.
