Atepomarus
Atepomaros, also Atepomarus, is the name of an ancient Celtic god or hero. The name comes from the Gallic words atepos ( "Horse" ) and maros ( " great") together.
Mythology
In Gallo -Roman times Atepomaros was equated by the interpretatio romana the Roman Mercurius. According to Roman tradition, there was a Celtic legend, in which he said to have fled with his companions Momoros before a certain Seroneus and to protect the city of Lugdunum (Lyon ) is said to have built.
A consecration inscription at Mauvières ( Indre ) in the field of Bituriges ( province of Aquitania ) names the name of God, and documented his worship.
