Atherton antechinus

Antechinus godmani is a Beutelsäugerart from the kind of Breitfuß Bag mice. It was first described by the biologist Thomas in 1923, but was long considered conspecific with the Yellow-footed bag mouse.

These bags mouse is one of the larger members of their species, their fur is reddish brown to dull brown. The tail is almost completely hairless.

The species lives in rain forests in northeastern Queensland (Australia). She's probably night or crepuscular and feeds mainly on bottom-dwelling invertebrates.

The mating season is between July and August after they end up dying as with other members of the genus, all males. In hollow trees, waste or epiphytes nests are built.

Antechinus godmani is listed by the IUCN as not at risk.
