Athina Onassis Roussel
Athina Hélène Onassis de Miranda, Greek Αθηνά Ωνάση ντε Μιράντα (born 29 January 1985 in Neuilly -sur -Seine, France), is the granddaughter and heiress of the assets of Aristotle Onassis. Her birth name is Athina Hélène Roussel ( Αθηνά Ρουσσέλ ), since her marriage in 2005 she called Athina Onassis de Miranda.
Personal
Athina Onassis is the only child from the relationship between Christina Onassis, the only daughter of the Greek shipowner Aristotle Onassis, and her husband in fourth marriage, Thierry Roussel. Her mother died in 1988 of heart failure.
In contrast to her family Athina grew largely shielded on by the public. On 29 January 2003 she went to the legacy of the estimated at several billion euros assets of her grandfather, which had gone to his death in 1975 at her mother Christina and her step-grandmother Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.
On 3 December 2005 Athina married the Brazilian show jumper Alvaro Affonso de Miranda Neto in São Paulo.
She is patron of the currently most important tournament series for show jumping (individual evaluation) in the "green season ", the Global Champions Tour.
Sporting successes
Athina Onassis occurs since early 2006 as a showjumper at international tournaments for Greece. After she first rode mostly small CSI tournaments as well as small and medium-sized tours large CSI tournaments, it denies, since 2011, the main tests at the CSI 5 * tournaments.
In 2007, she was with Welcome du Petit Vivier fourth in the Grand Prix of CSI 1 * in the Belgian Wisbecq. In 2009, she was also with Welcome du Petit Vivier third in the Grand Prix CSI 2 * in Valencia, Spain ( small tour as part of the Global Champions Tour tournament).
In November 2012 Athina Onassis crashed while training hard and pulled injuries to two cervical vertebrae to. The spinal cord was, according to her husband's case, however, unhurt, from January 2013 they again took part in tournaments. In August 2013, it first took part in the European Championships and reached the singles competition with Camille Z the 14th Place.
