The NRGi Park is a football stadium with track and field facility in the second largest Danish city of Aarhus.

Stadium

The Aarhus GF wears in the stadium of its home games and has 19,433 covered seats. At concerts, up to 50,000 people in the stadium and the playing surface can be heated. The NRGi Park is a part of the sports complex Atletion. In addition to the stadium is one of the multi-purpose hall NRGi Arena with 4,700 seats as the two main venues. After the Parken Stadium and the Brøndby Stadion it is the third largest stadium in Denmark.

The original Idrætspark Århus ( Århus German Sports Park ) was designed by the architect Axel Høeg Hansen. On 5 June 1920, the plant was inaugurated in the presence of King Christian X and Queen Alexandrine. One of the buildings burned down during the Second World War and was rebuilt in 1947 and reopened under the name Nye Stadionhal.

In 1993, the complex was renovated and the Sport-Hotel Hotel Atletion and offices to come. Then to a major renovation occurred in 2001. The stadium was completely renovated and the multi-purpose hall NRGi Arena built. The costs amounted to DKK 240 million ( € 32.2 million). In autumn 2006, the stadium was named after the energy company NRGi.

The NRGi Park was one of the four stages of the Danish U -21 Football Championship 2011.

There are also 20 places for journalists and 40 special seats for disabled.

Concerts

Inside the stadium, next to the football games and concerts are held, such as, inter alia, Elton John; Depeche Mode; the Eagles and George Michael.
