ATM Forum

The ATM Forum was founded in 1991, an international non -profit organization that was founded by various manufacturers of private data processing and telecommunications technology, who wanted to drive the ATM technology. Since 2005 she is part of the IP / MPLS Forum ( Internet-Protokoll/Multiprotocol Label Switching ), also a non-profit organization whose members include the Frame Relay Forum and the MPLS Forum.

Each manufacturer, operator, or user could be a member. Virtually all major manufacturers of telecommunications equipment were a member, just as large users such as the U.S. Department of Defense.
