Atoka is a city and county seat in Atoka County, in the U.S. state of Oklahoma.
The city was named after a Choctaw chief named Chief Atoka, in 1830 the Treaty of Dancing Rabbit Creek Treaty signed. Its name derives from the word Choctow hitoka hetoka or what ball game place means.
