Atomic Rooster

Atomic Rooster was a British rock band, the end of 1969 by Vincent Crane ( keyboards) and Carl Palmer (drums) was founded. Both had recently been adopted by The Crazy World of Arthur Brown.

Band History

Her first appearance had Atomic Rooster on August 29, 1969 at London's Lyceum as the opening act for Deep Purple. In 1971, guitarist John Du Cann do so, and Carl Palmer left the band to start with Keith Emerson and Greg Lake, the progressive rock band Emerson, Lake and Palmer. Paul Hammond came as the new drummer.

The band played their first albums through In Hearing of .. first hard rock verging on horror rock, and later Blue Rock. Influenced their tone was strongly influenced by the Hammond organ by Vincent Crane.

In 1971, Pete French as a singer to Atomic Rooster. The band had this year two hit singles, Tomorrow Night ( # 11 in the UK and # 42 in the German charts ) and The Devil 's Answer (# 4 in the UK and # 25 in the German charts ). But after the album John Du Cann and Paul Hammond left the band and founded Hard Stuff. Pete French joined Cactus and later the German funk band Randy Pie. Newly arrived Chris Farlowe (vocals) and Steve Bolton. It was followed by several albums and toured Europe and America before Crane broke up the band in 1975.

In 1980, there was a revival of Atomic Rooster. New recordings were released, and the band went on tour again. 1984 sparked Crane Atomic Rooster on for the second time. He played in 1985 with Dexy 's Midnight Runners, which dissolved in 1987. Crane tried a new beginning with Atomic Rooster. However, he fell ill, and the planned tour of Germany had to be canceled. Crane died in 1989 from an overdose of tablets.
