ATP Montevideo

The ATP tournament in Montevideo ( officially Topper Open) is a former men's tennis tournament, which was held in the Uruguayan capital in the years 1994 and 1995. Played outdoors on clay. The tournament was scheduled in the first week of November and thus one of the last clay court tournaments of the season (only the tournament in Buenos Aires was then nor later discharged ). The tournament was presented in the ATP World Series, the predecessor series on the ATP World Tour 250 Neither the single nor double, a player is able to win both sweeps; Alberto Berasategui reached in the individual, the team Sergio Casal / Emilio Sánchez in a double but both times the final. Marcelo Filippini was 1994, a local player to win the tournament.

Since 1998, the tournament under the name Uruguay Open will be held again in the ATP Challenger Tour, it is - as the tournament of the ATP Tour - played in the Carrasco Lawn Tennis Club, the largest tennis club in Uruguay.
