Atta Muhammad Nur

Atta Mohammad Noor ( * ca 1965) is the governor of the province of Balkh in Afghanistan. He was raised by President Hamid Karzai to his post in late autumn 2004. The Tajik Atta is in direct struggle for power with the Uzbek General Abdul Rashid Dostum. He was before the Soviet invasion teacher, then Mujahideen and later a commander of the Northern Alliance.
