Attala County, Mississippi

The Attala County is a county located in the state of Mississippi in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Kosciusko, which was named after Tadeusz Kosciuszko, a Polish officer who had fought in the American Revolutionary War. The county is one of the Dry counties, which means that the sale of alcohol is restricted or prohibited.

History

The Attala County was formed on December 23, 1833 from parts of Choctaw County. It was named after a fictional Native American hero.
