Attalus II Philadelphus
Attalus II Philadelphus ( 220 BC *, † 138 BC) was king of Pergamon from the dynasty of Attalids. He was the second son of Attalus I and the Apollonis.
He followed in the year 159 BC, his brother Eumenes II to the throne after he had made BC state affairs since 192. He is the builder of the famous Stoa of Attalos in Athens. His nickname " Philadelphus " ( " brother -loving " ) contribute to Eumenes due to its close relationship.
His illegitimate son Aristonicus claimed in the year 133 BC the throne under the name of Eumenes III.
