Geography
Attenhofen lies in the region of Landshut.
There are the following districts: Attenhofen, Oberwangenbach, Pötzmes, Walkertshofen.
History
Attenhofen appears first documented in 1100 in the gift book of Muenchsmuenster. The place belonged to Rentamt Munich and the court Main castle of the Electorate of Bavaria. In the course of administrative reform in the Kingdom of Bavaria was born with the congregation of 1818 the municipality Attenhofen.
Incorporations
Today's church was then in the course of municipal reform from the merger of the formerly independent communities Oberwangenbach and Pötzmes on 1 January 1972. Walkertshofen joined them on 1 January 1978.
Population Development
On the territory of the commune were 1961 1.109, 1970 1.046, 1987, 1055 and 2000 counted 1,289 residents a year. At the end of 2011, there were 1,344 inhabitants.

Mayor is Franz Stiglmaier ( Impartial Wählergemeinschaft ).
