Attenkirchen

Attenkirchen is a community in the Upper Bavarian district of Freising and a member of the administrative community Zolling. The place is considered to be the southern gateway to the Hallertau, Germany's largest hops growing area.

Geography

Attenkirchen lies in the tertiary hills about 13 kilometers north of the county town of Freising and a few kilometers north of the Ampertals. Attenkirchen is located on the B 301 ( Hallertauer hops road). In the township the high wood wire skeletons of the hop gardens begin to dominate the landscape.

History

The place is first mentioned in a deed dated 30 July Freising 830. At that time, the priest gave Uualdperth ( Waldpercht ) his property to the church " Zartinchircha " and to the Freising Cathedral. The place was an open Hofmark which was owned by the Ranolzhauser, from 1465 Westendorf, then from 1483 the Pullinger and averaging of tandem from 1447. 1560 acquired Jakob von Thurn to the entire Au Hofmark that went to the Lords of Flitzing 1616. From 1632 until the 19th century was the Hofmark owned by the Counts of Lodron. Politically, Attenkirchen time to Rentamt Landshut / District Court Moosburg. The place was in the course of administrative reform in Bavaria in 1818 an independent municipality.

Incorporations

In the course of municipal reform communities Pfettrach, Sillertshausen and parts of the community Wimpasing were incorporated on 1 April 1971. 1 July 1972, parts of the territory were added to the former rural community Reichertshausen.

Spin-offs

After the county reform the inhabitants of Sillertshausen hero and demanded their incorporation to Au. On January 1, 1982, the small region at that time about 40 inhabitants on the market Au in der Hallertau assigned.

Traffic

Through the town, the B leads 301 of Abensberg to Freising. The connection to the nearest motorways is also quite good. Until the closure of the local railway Attenkirchen was connected through the Hallertau local train on the rail network (via the Langenbach station). Today, the closest railway stations are in Freising or Pfaffenhofen. The nearest airport is Munich 15 km south of the village opposite the airport.

The route of the Hallertauer local railway has been used for some time to create a comfortable bike path that will open up the Hallertau for this type of traffic. This also serves to promote tourism.

Events

The community Attenkirchen organized every two years the " Hallertau beer festival".
