Atting lies in the Danube- Woods, near the valley of the Little Laber.

There is only the district Atting.
History
Atting was first mentioned in the year 847. It belonged to the accounts office and court Straubing of the Electorate of Bavaria. In the course of administrative reform in Bavaria, was born with the congregation of 1818, the current community.

Culture and sights
- The neo-Gothic parish church of the Assumption in Atting was built from 1856 to 1858. It has a late Gothic choir and the organ loft, a sandstone statue of Mary from 1645.
- In Rinkam the Branch Church of St. John the Baptist is from the late 12th century. It is a Romanesque parish church with secular upstairs.
