Attiswil is a municipality in the Oberaargau the canton of Bern in Switzerland.

It consists of a single village, which lies at the foot of the Jura.

History

In the Middle Ages Attiswil belonged to the rule Bipp that fell to Bern and Solothurn in 1413. As of 1463 the sovereign rights were only in Bern and Attiswil was assigned to the court Wiedlisbach the bailiwick Bipp. With the occupation of the city-state of Bern by the French in 1798 and the introduction of the Helvetic Republic Attiswil came to the district cheeks. The construction of the church in 1948 Attiswil got a private reformed parish within the parish Oberbipp.

Traffic

On January 9, 1918, the railway line in the Solothurn- Niederbipp Railway was taken with a station in Attiswil in operation.
