ATunes is a free (GPL - licensed ) audio player.

History

Beginning of 2006 was aTunes because the author Alex Aranda sought an application that could read the tags of the music of his Apple iPod. In addition, the songs should be shown organized on the disk. The first version came out on March 24, 2006 aTunes 0.3. Gradually new features were added, including of volunteers who make a part of the development work. The number of translations increased, so that 26 languages ​​are available today. Functions

ATunes is developed in Java and is thus capable of running on a variety of platforms. For playback, encoding and decoding MPlayer or LAME and other free programs are used.
