Atzbach

Atzbach is a municipality in Upper Austria in Vöcklabruck district in Hausruckviertel with 1166 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013). The municipality is located in the judicial district Vöcklabruck.

Geography

Atzbach is located on 464 m altitude in Hausruckviertel. The extension is 6 km from north to south, from west to east 5.2 km. The total area is 14.2 km ². 11.3% of the area is forested, 78.2 % of the area is used for agriculture. Quarters are:

Coat of arms

Blazon: a black, with silver wave beams occupied oblique beams, from the top of a green, growing in gold on the inclined beam downward bent linden leaf. The municipality colors are green -yellow-green.

The coat of arms granted in 1975 based in simplified form on the coat of arms of the followers, who were owners of the castle Köppach to the 16th century. The added wave beam refers to the place name.

History

Originally in the eastern part of the Duchy of Bavaria lying, was the place since the 12th century the Duchy of Austria. Since 1490 he is the Principality ' Austria above the Enns ' attributed.
