The Au Sable River is a tributary of Lake Huron in the U.S. state of Michigan.

The Au Sable River flows through the northern part of lower Michigan peninsula in an easterly direction before it opens at Au Sable in Lake Huron. The Au Sable River is formed at the confluence of scours Creek and Bradford Creek north of Frederic. The Au Sable River has a length of about 220 km. The catchment area covers 4946 km ².

The river is ideal for canoeing.

37 km of the Au Sable River were included in the Scenic River to the National Wild and Scenic River program category on October 4, 1984.
