Aube

The Aube [o ː b] is a French department of atomic number 10 It is in the northeast of the country in the Champagne- Ardenne region, and was named after the river Aube.

The Aube in the Western Champagne has a name, which ( with the atomic number 11) in the southern Languedoc is very similar to that of Aude. In addition to the designation after a river but there is little in common.

Geography

The department is bordered to the north by the department of Marne, on the east by the department of Haute- Marne, in the southeast on the Côte-d'Or department in the southwest of the Yonne department in north and west by the department of Seine -et- Marne.

During the Seine flows through the central department from southeast to northwest, the eponymous Aube runs in the northeastern and northern part of the department. To the east between the Seine and Aube extends the Regional Natural Park of the Orient Forest with the three artificial lakes Lac d' Orient, Lac du Temple and Lac Amance that serve to regulate the water level of the two rivers.
