Aubun

The red variety Aubun ( Carignan de Bedoin, Carignan de Gigondas, Counoise (erroneously, since often confused with the real Counoise ), Big Rogettaz, Gueyne, More Coke or Murescola ( in Corsica), Moustardier or Moutardier, Quenoise ) comes from the area around Gigondas | and Mont Ventoux in the Vaucluse region of France and is in the Mediterranean part of France, admitted to the southern Rhone and Languedoc (AOC Cabardès ) and Provence in some appellations.

Aubun has long been one of the 20 most grape varieties grown in France. In 1979 was just under 6,000 hectares planted with it, but it is, in official clearing programs increasingly cleared and planted hardly new. In 2007 there were only around 720 hectares, 1,410 hectares were collected after yet in 2002.

It is because of their water-repellent, weißwolligen at the shoot tip Blattbehaarung quite resistant fungus (powdery mildew and downy mildew, raw rot ) and because of the very late shoot no late frost. The yielding variety is similar to the related with her red Counoise. The wine is similar to the variety Carignan, which is also reflected in the names of synonyms. Aubun is a variety of the noble vine (Vitis vinifera ). It has hermaphrodite flowers and is thus self- fruiting. When the wine-growing economic disadvantage is avoided, no return delivered to have male plants grow.

Outside France Aubun is to find a small extent in Australia and California. It was there, imported from former emigrants. The Rebbe global level is therefore estimated to be approximately 2,000 acres.

In France, the clones 168 and 350 approved for commercial cultivation.
