An audio commentary is a soundtrack on a Blu -ray, DVD or laser disc. The audio commentary is mostly spoken by contributors of the film or the documentation, which can be seen in video format on the DVD or laser disc. Often, individuals such as the director or lead actor, but also by groups of up to dozens of people, the present video is commented. Common are two ways: Either comment on the person concerned the film while they see him ( a so-called sit-down commentary ), or the comment consists of interview fragments that were not included specifically for the audio commentary. The narrative reports for this person getting out of the looked after by their field and is normally not visible.

Exceptions are rare; as are, for example, the audio commentary on the film Ghostbusters - Ghostbusters the persons speaking optionally shown as small silhouettes at the lower end of the visible frames and you can them speaking, watch (a tribute to Mystery Science Theater 3000 ) so when commenting.

Partial " Angle" of the DVD function was experimented by the people commenting briefly display in the current image with the.

The comment is normally in spoken form, but sometimes only in the form of a subtitle commentary without separate audio track. Audio comments are often subtitled (especially if an English-language audio commentary on a German DVD is pressed ), but this is not common practice and is often apart from cost reasons thereof. Particularly high-quality DVDs now offer up to four audio commentary to a film. The audio commentary is usually recorded in stereo or mono format.
