Audio Secrecy is the third studio album by the American rock band Stone Sour.

Genesis

After the tour for the album Come What ( ever) May was completed in 2007, the band members separate ways to get other projects went back to dedicate. Corey Taylor and James Root Slipknot took on their fourth album All Hope Is Gone, which was published in 2008. The tour lasted until November 2009. However, Stone Sour released in summer 2009 on its official website a Count Up. On 1 December 2009 Taylor announced in an interview that the new album by Rob Cavallo should be produced. He also said that the recordings would run from February 2010. However, he betrayed no details. On 12 January 2010 was followed by a press release in which it announced that Nick Raskulinecz would rather Rob Cavallo to produce the album. Raskulinecz already the previous album, Come What ( ever) May was produced. The band set up an official Twitter profile, where the recordings could be followed for album of the fans. During the recording of the song The pessimist was taken, who later became a soundtrack contribution to Transformers 3. However, the piece is not included on the album. It was also included as the previous albums ( Omega and Frozen ) a speech by Corey Taylor. The piece was not published. Already on June 21, 2010 was released via iTunes the first single mission statement. Besides Mission Statement were as singles Say You'll Haunt Me, Digital ( Did You Tell) Hesitate and disengaged. To all singles - to serve a mission statement - there was also a music video. The album was released on September 3 in Europe and September 7 in America. It sold in the U.S. more than 46,000 times. Audio Secrecy was dedicated to Slipknot bassist Paul Gray. He died 24 May 2010 from an overdose of morphine and fentanyl in conjunction with heart disease.

Reception

Expressed Thorsten tooth from Metal Hammer that the songs on the album more sophisticated, mature and passionate would be than anything Stone Sour have been published. The material is also suitable for large stadiums. Although he said that old fans with the album might have problems, but missed a perfect score at seven possible points. Stressed Ronny Bittner of the Rock Hard that Audio Secrecy is the logical evolution of a band that would combine at least three world-class songwriting talents ( Taylor, root, border). He forgave eight out of ten possible points. Michael Edele of Laut.de but said that the inner balance of Corey Taylor would be at the expense of his creativity and would be in the second half of the album Hits scarce. He missed three out of five stars.
