Audiometry

With audiometry methods are called, the measured properties and parameters of the hearing. They are used in the diagnosis of diseases of the organs of hearing and for research into these organs. Audiometry is the branch of Audiology and thus the ear, nose and throat medicine. Audiometry also uses certain techniques of Neurology and often provides important information for them.

We distinguish subjective and objective audiometric methods. The former require the assistance of the person whose hearing is to be investigated. The latter come from without this help.
