Audun Kleive

Audun Kleive ( born October 20, 1961) is a Norwegian jazz drummer.

Life and work

The son of the organist Kristoffer Kleive and brother of the organist Iver Kleive grew up in Skien. He studied in Oslo at the Musikkhøyskolen. From 1981 to 1983 he was member of the rock - jazz band Lotus, next 1981-1984 the band Oslo 13th 1983 he released his first album Anti- Therapy.

In 1983, he played in various jazz bands, including the Anne Marie Giørtz Quintet, the Quartet Frode Alnæs and Nils Petter Molvaer, the Brødrene Balke Etno radio, the Knut Terje Rypdal Trio and Quartet Riisnæs The Chasers. He also had his own band Sidsel Endresen with. In the later 1980s, he worked with the Swedish group Entra Live, again with the group Oslo 13 and 87 with Trio 1989 he was elected by the Norwegian jazz musician Association for Jazz Musician of the Year.

In the 1990s, working with Jon Balke and Per Jørgensen was the main, he was from 1993, Jon Balke's Magnetic North ensemble on. He also worked in a quartet with Nils Petter Molvaer, Bugge Wesseltoft Jens Bjørn and Kjellemyr and played by Jon Eberson the album Music for Men and Machines a.
