Geography

Geographical location

Floodplain forest is located on the eastern edge of the natural area Neckarbecken belonging Backnanger bay against the Murrhardter forest, which forms part of the natural ecosystem Swabian- Franconian Forest. The municipality lies at 269-520 meters above sea level, ranging from loess west and Gipskeuper east of Brüdenbachs ( tributary of the Murr ) over reeds and pebbly sandstone at the Keuper edge up to Stubensandstein of Murrhardter Forest without here to reach Knoll marl or black Jura.

Riparian forest adjacent to Backnang in the northwest, Sulzbach an der Murr in the north, Murrhardt in the northeast, southeast and Althütte in Weissach im Tal in the southwest.

Community structure

The riparian forest community consists of 16 villages, hamlets, farms and houses and was formed in the 1970s from the four previously independent municipalities in Ebersberg, Lippoldsweiler, Oberbrüden and Unterbrüden.

To Ebersberg Ebersberg include the village and the castle Ebersberg.

To Lippoldsweiler include the village Lippoldsweiler, the hamlet Däfern and scorn hamlet and farmstead Sauerhof.

History

On 1 January 1971 Ebersberg was incorporated into Lippoldsweiler. On 1 July 1971, then Lippoldsweiler, Oberbrüden and Unterbrüden united to form the new community floodplain forest.

Religions

Since 1985, three classical concerts under the title Ebersberg Concerts in the homonymous district annually.

Structures

  • The remains of the Hohenstaufen castle Ebersberg Ebersberg places are above the part and Lippoldsweiler. The castle was first mentioned in 1226. In 1551 the two-winged castle was built to Ebersberg, whose remains are to be seen in today's construction. 1714 a fire destroyed the castle. In the rebuilt building of 1719 ( not open to visitors) is since 1966 the education and meeting the German Scout Association of Saint George in the Diocese of Rottenburg- Stuttgart. From the mountain spur, there is a beautiful view of the bay with the Backnanger Weissacher valley.

In Lippoldsweiler, top and Unterbrüden is one primary school and a kindergarten. Secondary schools can be visited in Weissach im Tal.
