Geography

Auerbach is the Donau -Wald.

The municipality comprises the districts Auerbach, Engolling and Urlading.

History

Auerbach belonged to Rentamt Straubing and the district court Hengersberg of the Electorate of Bavaria.

Auerbach is considered the first daughter of the Benedictine monastery Niederaltaich. The mention of the old Urbach (today Auerbach ) can be traced back to the year 765. The name comes from the same Auerbach, unassuming stream that rises west of Auerbach and flows through the middle of Oberauerbach der Ohe. The area was probably inhabited in the time between 600 and 900. The first church of the whole area to have been built in the year 788 in Auerbach by the monks of Niederaltaich.

Incorporations

On April 1, 1971, part was annexed by Urlading. On January 1, 1972, added Engolling.

Population Development

On the territory of the municipality were 1970 1.536 1987 1.783 and then counted 2,141 inhabitants in 2000.

Policy

Mayor Gerhard Strasser ( FW / UWG). He was the successor of Franz Fürst ( Impartial Wählergemeinschaft ) in 2002.

The municipal tax revenue amounted to the equivalent of € 788,000 in 1999, which amounted to the trade tax revenues ( net) converted € 190,000.

It was in 1998 according to official statistics in manufacturing and 151 in trade and transport, no social insurance contributions at the workplace. In other areas, were employed to social security at the workplace 53 people. Social insurance contributions at residence, there were a total of 764 in the manufacturing sector, there were two, in the construction of nine companies. In addition, in 1999, there were 87 farms with an agricultural area of 1,304 ha, of which 571 ha of arable land and 730 ha of permanent grassland.
