Auer is a municipality with 867 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the south- east of Styria in the district of Southeastern Styria. From 1 January 2015 it is merged in the Styrian municipality structural reform with the municipalities box Bach, Gniebing - Weissbach, Gossendorf, head im Raabtal, Mühldorf in field Bach and Raabau, the new community will continue to use the name " field Bach".

Geographical Location
Auer Bach is located approximately 53 kilometers east of Graz and about 6 km north of field stream in East Styrian Hill Country.

Coat of arms
The award of the municipality coat of arms came into effect on 1 January 1994. Blazon: In black silver shield a rafter with underlaid river above the sign foot; Rafters and river underlain by two growing from the center of the lower plate edge diverging silver stalks of grain filling with multiple ears of corn, the whole plate.
