Up and away - My abroad Diary is a documentary series that is broadcast by the German channel VOX on April 16, 2007.

Content

The television series is part of the format of docu-soaps. In the series, up and away - My Diary abroad VOX accompanies young people who leave for the first time in their lives their families, their friends and their home to spend some time abroad. In addition, teenagers or young adults are accompanied that are for a few months visiting Germans. Participants record their experiences and impressions on with a handheld camera.

Format

The reports with portrait - character take on average one a circumference of 104 minutes. The accompaniment of the protagonists by the production company sees one to two days in Germany and around ten days before abroad.

The 100th episode was broadcast on 1 February 2008.

Criticism

Former participants complained again and again in different fora entries that events have been exaggerated or false. It was further complained that scenes were partially or completely staged for the camera.
