Hammer forging is a district in the north -east of Augsburg with about 6,600 inhabitants in an area of 9.21 km ². Hammer forging is the 29th of 41 districts of Augsburg, while the V of XVII planning areas.

Location

In the West, the forge of the Firnhaberau is bounded in the south by the municipalities Lechhausen West and East. The northern and eastern borders are also the city limits.

History

1821 was built in the north -east of present-day district of hammer forging am Mühlbach a hammer mill. The district was named after her. This hammer mill no longer exists, but was not until 1944 as a steam hammer mill in operation. After the river bed of the River Lech was dug, the level of Mühlbach sank.
