August Bier

August Bier (* November 24, 1861 in Helsen, Waldeck, † 12 March 1949 in sows, Brandenburg ) was a German surgeon and university lecturer. He was also a major forester.

Life

August Bier father was the surveyor Theodor beer. 1881 put beer from the High School at the Old National School Korbach. He studied from 1881 to 1886 medicine at the Friedrich- Wilhelms- University of Berlin, the University of Leipzig and the Christian -Albrechts -University of Kiel. Keel

In the Three Emperors year he went as an assistant at the Department of Surgery, Christian- Albrechts- University of Kiel, Friedrich von Esmarch. He habilitated in 1889 at age 28 and became associate professor in 1894.

In Kiel he also began his attempts for local anesthesia with an injection of cocaine solution directly into the spinal canal. He led in 1898 with his assistant August Hildebrandt each other by spinal anesthesia. By injecting cocaine " a strong blow with an iron hammer in the shins [ and ] strong push and pull on testicles " was no longer perceived as painful. Greifswald

Forestry
