Auguste-René-Marie Dubourg

Auguste -René Cardinal Dubourg ( born September 30, 1842 in Loguivy- Plogras, France, † September 22, 1921 in Rennes) was Bishop of Moulins, and later Archbishop of Rennes.

Life

Auguste -René Dubourg received his philosophical and theological education in the seminary of Saint- Brieuc. He received on 22 December 1866, the sacrament of Holy Orders and worked as a teacher at the minor seminary of Saint- Brieuc. Later, he held various positions, among others, true as Vicar General and Vicar chapter, in the administration of his home diocese.

1893 he was appointed by Pope Leo XIII. Bishop of Moulins, in 1906 he Pius X transferred the management of the Archdiocese of Rennes. Pope Benedict XV. took him on 4 December 1916 as cardinal priest with the titular church of Santa Balbina on the College of Cardinals. Auguste -René Dubourg died on September 22, 1921 in Rennes and was buried in the local cathedral.
