Augusto De Luca

Augusto De Luca ( born July 1, 1955 in Naples ) is an Italian artist and photographer.

Life and work

After graduation Augusto De Luca graduated from in jurisprudence. In the 1970s, he was a professional photographer and devoted himself to research and traditional photography. Some art critics believe that his style particularly emphasize the essential parts of photography. In addition to his realistic photographs, there are also some that are reminiscent of the metaphysical art.

De Luca is known as national and international artists and has exhibited his works in Italy and abroad. He is the author of several album covers, promotional photos and photographic books. His work is found in private and public collections, such as in the National Library of Paris, Rome Municipal Photographic Archives, International Polaroid Collection ( USA) and the Musée de la Photographie à Charleroi de la Communauté française.

He has also taught photography in the " Montecitorio Club" in the Italian Parliament. His work has been exhibited in the Camera dei deputati 1995. There have participated Carlo Azeglio Ciampi, Nilde Iotti ( Camera dei President deputati ) and Giorgio Napolitano at his exhibitions. De Luca has for Telecom Italia seven different photographs for phone cards from Naples, Paris, Dublin, Berlin, Bruxelles, realized a total circulation of 19 million copies.

In 1996, De Luca received Ennio Morricone along with the title of " Città di Roma " for the book Roma Nostra.
