Augusto Ramos Soares

Augusto Ramos Soares ( born August 22, 1986 in Becae, East Timor ) is a marathon runner from East Timor.

Background

The 165 cm - large athlete ran the first Dili Marathon 2010 to second place in 2:26:00 hrs. The following year he was again second with 2:31:54 hrs.

At the Tokyo Marathon 2012 Soares came to 2:33:46 hours to the finish.

Soares takes part in the 2012 Olympic Games in London, and was the flag bearer at the opening ceremony. He was already one of the Summer Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008, but did not travel to. In London, Soares was the penultimate runner who crossed the finish line with a time of 2:45:09 hours.

For the Dili Marathon 2013 on 22 June Soares coached the Olympians from 2000 Calisto da Costa.
