Aukra is a place and a municipality in the province (county ) Møre og Romsdal, Norway.

In the community Aukra 3328 people live ( as of March 31, 2013), the bulk of it on the island Gossa, 600 live on the mainland portion of the municipality, the Julsund bordering Fræna and Molde. Aukra also shares a border with Midsund and Sandøy.

On Gossa a strong industrial expansion takes place. One of the largest gas terminals in Northern Europe, Nyhamna, the gas is to receive from the Ormen Lange gas field, is being built there. This terminal will supply large parts of Europe with gas.

Before the rise of the gas industry revenue Aukras came primarily from agriculture, the fishing industry and shipbuilding.
