Auma (river)

The Auma is an approximately 34.2 km long tributary of the Weida district Greiz in Thuringia. It rises in one, used by numerous ponds wetland southeast of Linda in Neustadt an der Orla and initially flows northeast through Köthnitz.

It is crossed in this area by the Federal Highway 9. Other places are Reinsdorf, Sorna, Krölpa, Muntscha, Auma, Wiebelsdorf, Wöhlsdorf, Forstwolfersdorf, Rohna, Schomberg, where it feeds the Aumatalsperre, and Liebsdorf. In the town of Weida it empties into the river of the same Weida.

Between Sorna and Auma the Aumatal of the railway line Triptis - Marxgrün was used. When Reinsdorf the Auma drained a wetland, which is the northern continuation of the Plothener ponds.
