The city Auma Weidatal is a rural municipality in the district of Greiz in Thuringia. Seat of administration is the former city Auma.

Geography

Auma Weidatal located in the southwest of the district Greiz. In the north, bordering the Harth -Pöllnitz, in the northeast of the city Weida and the community Hohenleuben as well as the east and south of the city Zeulenroda on. In the west, the municipalities Tegau, Dittersdorf, Tömmelsdorf, Triptis and Mittelpöllnitz limits in Saale- Orla-Kreis to Auma Weidatal.

Urban and rural community structure

Auma Weidatal is divided into five villages which meet the origin communities of the city with its districts:

  • Auma with the districts Gütterlitz, Krölpa, Muntscha, Bottom village, Wenigenauma and Zickra
  • Brown village of the district of Tischendorf
  • Göhren with the districts Döhlen and Göhren
  • Staitz
  • Wiebelsdorf with the districts Pfersdorf and Wöhlsdorf

History

The Mayor of Auma and the municipalities Brown village, Göhren, Staitz and Wiebelsdorf signed on 13 January 2011 the contract for the formation of a rural community. The five municipalities completed together with three other businesses in their management of the administrative community Auma Weidatal since 1996. On 1 December 2011, the merger was completed.

Policy

The city council consists transitional together from all city and municipal councils of the origin communities Auma Weidatals. Each of the five villages is represented by a village mayor. In April 2012, a new city council should be chosen until then is Iris Seidel (CDU ) of the city as commissioner before. It was replaced by Frank Schmidt.

Economy and infrastructure

By Auma Weidatal the main road running towards Gera 2 / Schleiz as well as several state roads in the surrounding villages. The motorway junction Triptis the Federal Highway 9 is located approximately 11 kilometers by car from the city center. The section of the railway line Triptis - Marxgrün between Triptis and Saalburg- Ebersdorf where Auma and Krölpa had a station is decommissioned.

The city's economy is dominated by medium-sized industry, trade, commercial and agricultural enterprises. In the village Staitz the industrial area exists " in the Muschke ".
