Aura cheese

Aura is a Finnish blue mold cheese, which is produced by the Finnish dairy Valio in the city Äänekoski from cow's milk. Aura cheese got its name after the river Aurajoki, by Varsinais -Suomi, a portion of Southwest Finland, Turku flows and flows into the sea. Aura cheese is produced since 1935. It is matured for six weeks. The normal aura cheese has a fat content of 29 percent.

Since the 1980s, also Aura Gold cheese is offered, thanks to twelve weeks storage has a stronger aroma. There is also a light-weight variant AURA 17 with 17 percent fat.

The cheese is sold as a whole loaf to 3.4 kg in portions (Aura and Aura 17 in blue metallic foil, Aura Gold in a plastic cup ).

Since Aura cheese is also used for cooking and baking, it is also available in the rubbed plastic bag.
